Pureit Advanced RO (Reverse Osmosis)+UV (Ultra Violet) water purifier is one of the most affordable RO water purifiers  equipped with the latest technology. I’ve had a chance to get my hands on the water purifier and here’s my honest review.

Pureit Advanced RO+UV

Build: Pureit Advanced RO+UV water purifier is built with food grade, non-toxic, engineering grade plastics. Such plastic is considered nontoxic and BPA free, this keeps the water bacteria free even when stored for longer duration. Germ kill kit and other materials on the water purifier are made with the same raw materials. The device weighs less than 6 kg’s, thanks to the compact design and high quality materials used. Pureit has equipped the highly rated break resistant tap on this entry model, which is a very good sign. Outer body is ergonomically built and easily blends with any modular or regular kitchen styles. I also like the advanced voltage fluctuation guard on the water purifier, the device is equipped to handle voltages between 165 to 280 V a.c which avoids the use of an additional stabilizer.

Technology: Pureit Advanced RO+UV water purifier has an advanced 6 stage purification technology, very similar to many RO water purifiers. I’ve got many emails on the issues of water purification with this water purifier, but, they are really not issues with the device and many of them are with the choice of device. Pureit Advanced RO+UV is strictly recommended for municipal or corporation water and NOT for bore well or other sources of water. Pureit Advanced RO+UV purifies water in 6 stages;

  1. Pre-sediment filter: Removes fine and coarse particulate impurities/dirt and improves the life of the carbon filter.
  2. Pre-RO carbon filter: Removes chlorine and organic impurities like harmful pesticides. It also adsorbs bad taste and odour causing organic compounds from water.
  3. Post-carbon sediment filter: Removes remaining fine and coarse particulate impurities/dirt and improves the life of RO membrane.
  4. RO Membrane: Removes dissolved salts, hardness, pesticides and heavy metals like arsenic, lead and mercury. It also removes microbial contaminants like bacteria, virus, protozoa and cysts.
  5. UV (Ultra Violet) Chamber: Ultra Violet (UV) chamber is added post-RO, which ensures that the water is purified not once, but twice.
  6. Post-RO carbon filter: Last level of purification acts as a polisher and enhances the taste of purified water.

Water flow rate is a tad slow at 9 to 12 liters per hour  when compared to KENT water purifiers at 15 liters per hour, this is due to advanced 6 stage water purification on the Pureit, this should not be a real concern.

  • Design

An eye appealing design with excellent ergonomics

Taps are tested upto 50,000 times to ensure that it lasts long

  • GermKill Kit

Best in class purification and filter life

  • External Pre-filter

The pre-filter has to be installed externally on the wall and is not built into the water purifier

  • High Maintenance

Germ Kill kits are great but expensive

  • Not suitable for all types of water

The water purifier is strictly recommended for municipal or corporation water

Design: Pureit Advanced RO+UV is ergonomically designed with neat and elegant finishes. The small water tank of 5 liters has contributed to the compact design of the water purifier. However, I did not like the pre-sediment filter being out of the water purifier, this certainly makes the wall look messy with another object nailed to it. The water purifier lacks the list of bells and whistles, filter status or replacements, this is justified with the price point of the product.

Pureit Classic vs Pureit Advanced: Pureit has got many people wondering on differences between their classic and advanced product line up, well, technically both classic and advanced models share the same specifications. Functionally they are not different either. The only difference noticed is the design of the water purifier, Pureit advanced series has a blue stripe running vertically and the product branding of “advanced” seen on the water purifier. The cost difference between these 2 models is approximately ₹ 1,200.00. Is it really worth paying the extra bucks for the “advanced” version? It depends on how deep your pockets are.

Service & Price: Pureit is the best rated water purifier brand for after sales service, with extensive service network spread over 1300 service centers and easy easy to reach contact services. The The best in class GermKill Kit can filter more than 8000 liters of water, this also reduces the cost of maintenance. Pureit Advanced RO+UV was launched at a price of ₹ 11,000.00 and now is retailing at ₹ 10,500.00, this is certainly one of the most affordable RO water purifiers out in the market.

Conclusion: Pureit Advanced RO+UV water purifier is recommended only if your source of water is from the local municipal or corporation, bore well or other sources of water can have more contaminants and high hardness which needs a more advanced water purifier. Ergonomic design, intuitive operation, basic 6 stage water purification technology and great after sales service attributes to the success of Pureit Advanced RO+UV.
